Take note of the Colour of the Year 2015: Marsala!

Yes, you read well. Pantone has already elected the Colour of the Year 2015. It is the Pantone 18-1438, Marsala, a colour tone somewhere between terra cotta and wine red.

"While captivating Pantone 18-3224 Radiant Orchid, the 2014 colour of the year, encouraged creativity and innovation, Marsala enriches our mind, body and soul, exuding confidence and stability," says Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute, on Pantone’s website, adding "much like the fortified wine that gives Marsala its name, this tasteful hue embodies the satisfying richness of a fulfilling meal while it’s grounding red-brown roots emanate a sophisticated, natural earthiness."

Pantone’s Colour of the Year is most likely to have a great influence on branding, product development and consumer’s choice. Leatrice Eiseman adds “this hearty, yet stylish tone is universally appealing and translates easily to fashion, beauty, industrial design, home furnishings and interiors.”

What do you think about this year’s choice?
